this moment seems so long
Don't waste now, precious time

Tucker nods as she thanks him, happy to be of help. He could be like that most of the time when he wanted to be. It was one of his better qualities and made up for his lack of seriousness. If people would actually take the time to get to know him then they would actually see that instead of just seeing the funny, crazy Tucker. He didn't mind that people only knew that, but sometimes he wished that he could have some real close friends. People usually tended to just leave him after they got tired of him being funny all the time. He usually blew things like that anyways.

"No problem. I actually kind of enjoyed it. Well, at least I enjoyed meeting you. I hadn't met anyone here before that."

Tucker wondered if there was anyone here like him. The places he'd been before here, the boarding school and the horse academy, had been totally lame to him because everyone had pretty much been rich preppies who didn't care for his kind of fun. It seemed like everyone he met who was rich was like that, but it didn't seem like Ashley was. She was working three jobs like him, so that must mean that she was pretty bad off like him. It made Tucker feel good that she wasn't as bad off as him.

Walking out into the hallway and over to the chute, Tucker dropped his bags in before turning to Ashley. He felt bad that she still had rooms to do, but he really needed to find a place to live or at least a place to shower before he had to head off to work tonight. After that he doubted he'd ever get some free time so it needed to be done.

"Yeah, i'm sure we'll meet up somewhere with our thousand jobs."

Tucker says with a smile. Maybe next time he saw her he'd actually be feeling like himself and she could see how fun he actually was.

If she knew he was looking for a place to stay she would have offered him her spare room, after all she needed a room-mate to help pay for the rent and take all the pressure off her head so she could get a decent night's sleep. However since she didn't know she didn't say anything, after all she didn't want to be forward. She'd rather hide behind her shields then open up to anyone, she feared so much of getting hurt. She just couldn't risk it, even though Tucker did seem like a genuinely nice guy. Most people seemed nice to her to start off with but none of them had been able to get her to let her shields down and open herself up to them. It was really unfortunate actually because deep down she was a really sweet and friendly person who craved some fun and company. Like any girl she wished for a guy to love her for her, and to have friends but she just didn't act on them. She was too scared. She really wanted to say 'I hope so' when he mentioned seeing her again with their thousand and one jobs but she didn't. She held back and simply smiled politely, a small glimmer of joy hiding in the back of her eyes.

"We probably will. Thanks again for helping, most people don't."

She says gently as she closes the chute. Her hands wrapped around the trolley as she looked down at the clipboard resting on top. It read all the rooms she had to do, a quarter of them were crossed off indicating they were done. She saw she had to do room 523 next and knew that was the room the mayor was staying with one of his bits on the side. It was ridiculous, he had a wife too. He had even tried to hit on her but she had completely refused him. Shaking her head she wished there were less jerks like the mayor and more nice guys like Tucker here in the world. At least then it would be less likely she'd get hurt.

Tucker really wasn't the definition of clean. His room back at his old house had been totally trashed and he didn't mind it at all. Now here he was helping someone clean a trashed room. Maybe he'd matured at least a little since he left home. But only a tiny bit.

"You don't have to keep thanking me. It was nothing."

Tucker still hadn't a clue where anything in this town was. He'd probably drive around and get lost or something stupid like that and then make a bigger fool of himself. He didn't mind looking stupid, but he did mind getting fired from his jobs on the first day. He'd have to get himself a map or something handy like that.

"Do you know of anywhere I can like rent an apartment or something?"

A smile tugged at her lips as he insisted helping her had been nothing and she didn't need to thank him. Her eyes sparkled for a moment before she retreated behind her shields. Looking over her trolley she checked if she needed anything else but was soon snapped out of it as she heard him ask about a place to rent. She jumped, sending a few items falling off the trolley before regaining her composure, blushing slightly as she looked from the mess on the floor to Tucker.

"Well as a matter of fact, I need someone to co-rent the apartment I'm staying at. I have to work three jobs just to survive and to have someone else there to help pay it would be a god send."

She offers, hoping he wouldn't think she had an ulterior motive. After all she just wanted some time to have fun and relax.

So Tucker had never really had a roommate of the opposite sex before, but he highly doubted they'd see much of each other anyways. They both had never ending jobs, so he highly doubted they'd be home much anyways. It sounded like a good deal and they wouldn't have to pay as much. Maybe he could drop one of his jobs that way. It would buy him some free time.

"Oh man. That would be so awesome!"

Tucker says with a grin. He was beginning to feel more like himself and the headache from earlier had died down to just a dull throb. He hardly even knew Ashley, but he could already tell that they were going to get along. Well, as long as she liked his fun side. Then again, who didn't besides total up-tight preppies?

A smile crossed her lips at his reponse, a tiny sparkle in the back of her eyes as she looked at him. She was glad she had made him happy. Maybe that could be her thanks instead of taking him out. Holding back a laugh she shook her head, amusement written over her tanned face as she looked from the floor back to him.

"Sounds great. Move in as soon as you want. Infact you can go there now. I have to finish up here anyway."

She says softly as she pulls out the keys to the apartment before handing them over.

"Its in Kopper Flats, first floor room three."

[Sorry its awful]

Tucker wasn't nervous about living with Ashley, he was curious about what it would be like living with a girl. Well, more like casual passing with a girl, but it was all the same. He'd probably have to make an effort to keep his part of the apartment clean which would be a total hassle for him, but at least he didn't have to pay a ton of money now. And what about Jake? He hoped Ashley was ok with dogs.

"Thanks so much Ashley. You're a life safer."

Tucker says with a smile. He'd helped her earlier and now she'd helped him. They were even now. Tucker fingered the key in his hand and looked towards the exit before glancing back at Ashley. He was eager to get going and he was sure Jake was eager to get out of his truck.

"I guess i'll catch you later then."

Tucker says before heading towards the door. It'd be nice to get a hot shower and a nap in before his first night of work.

[Likewise. Its like midnight here and i'm beat. Sorry. :P]

A smile tugs at her lips as she hears his words. He was so sweet. Pushing thoughts that wanted to take hold to the back of her mind she nodded, her hands wrapping around the trolley handle as she remembered she still had rooms to do.

"No problem, see you later Tucker!"

She calls after him as she watches him head for the exit. Brushing a few strands of hair behind her ear she sighs as she moves off to the room the mayor was in, hoping he wasn't naked in his bed with his bit on the side. Now that would be one awkward moment although truthfully she had cleaned the room in that kind of situation before. This wasn't the first affair the mayor had.
