Lets Keep The Beat [Dylan.] « Thread Started on Feb 15, 2007, 9:05am »
"Candice! Get your butt out there and do your job." a loud voice boomed from the kitchen. Candice picked up her notpad and walked out into the large room filled with rich people all waiting for their meals. She scurried over to a table and took out her pen. "Hello, I am your waitress for this evening. My name is Candice. What can I get you to drink?" she asked the couple sweetly.
The man looked at her then to the menu. "I'll have some Red Wine please. How about you honey?" he replied, looking to his wife afterwards. She looked up and Candice and smiled. "I like your hair by the way. Oh, and anyways, I'll have the same thing please." Candice nodded and then walked off towards the kitchen, dropping the order on the counter so they could get the drinks.
Candice stopped to sit down for a few minutes. She was extremely tired and just wanted to go home to sleep. But, that wasn't going too happen until 11:00. She had a shift of 5:00 to 11:00. On the bright side, she had the day off tomorrow.

[ ooc - i just realised that Dylan works here too xD gawh i'm slow lol ]
Dylan quickly rushed into the large restaurant dressed in his chef's uniform, black dress pants, a longsleeve white cotton shirt and simple black shoes. He was just on time to start his shift, lucky. He was usually about 5 minutes late which made the manager really angry, he was actually quite surprised he hadn't gotten any warnings or anything for it, the manager just got angry at him. Glancing over at one of the waitresses on the way towards the kitchen he offered a friendly smile. He hadn't seen her here before, she must have been new, or they usually had different shifts.
As he reached the kitchen he took one of the black and white checkered aprons off its hook, quickly putting it on and tying it up at the back. He gave the other cooks are friendly nod as he began to prepare the meals. Since starting there a couple of months ago, he had been constantly tired - he was always being called in for unexpected shifts. Extra money though so he didn't mind all that much.

Candice smiled as Dylan walked by her and exchanged a smile. She had seen him, but he had never seen her. The sound of her manager's voice boomed yet again, making her jump. Candice grabbed her notebook again and went back to the couple. "Hi again. Here are your drinks. And have you decided on your meals yet?" she asked plastering a smile on.
They both looked at her and spoke in unison. "What the meal of the day?". Candice cringed slightly but hid it with a new smile. "It's garlic shrimp with a hint of lemon. There is a baked patato that is included, but you can swap it for another side order." The couple looked at eachother and then they turned back. "Sounds good."
Candice took off back into the kitchen, walking up to Dylan. "Hey, um, here's an order." she said shyly, handing him the note with the requests on it.

He continued preparing the orders, placing them in the rank and ringing the bell to let the waitresses know they were ready. the orders kept on coming, I guess you could say the restaurant was pretty popular, especially on an evening.
He glanced back over to the waitress he had exchanged a smile with before. He watched her for a second, which was obviously long enough to slice the tip of his finger. He refrained from swearing as he got some paper towel, wrapping his finger in it. He scooped up the food he had been preparing with his other hand and threw it in the bin. He got one of the other chefs to clean off the bench while he went to find something proper to cover his wound.
Returning minutes later he realised the orders had caught up to him. He smiled as the girl approached him, taking the note paper from her hand. "Thanks" he replied as their eyes locked for a mere second.
